Have you ever noticed entrepreneurs who appear to become successful “overnight”? It’s a bit of a mystery, isn’t it; one day nobody knows who they are and the next day everyone’s talking about them. This is an interesting phenomenon that happens with entrepreneurs, but I assure you… the success rarely happens “overnight.” Granted, there may be an extremely small percentage of true overnight successes; but for most entrepreneurs it’s taken years to reach that level of achievement. How do I know? Because it’s been my personal journey.
What I want to share with you today, are the three key strategies that helped me get to this level of success in my business. For those of you who know me, or who have been following me for several years, these will sound familiar to you… but for those of you who are new to my teaching, my story and my business, get ready for an inside peek at what it really takes to become an “overnight” success.
1) Faith
Faith has been the single most important factor in my success. Now, you may be asking what I’m talking about when I refer to faith. First, let me say that, to me, faith has nothing to do with religion. My personal experience of faith is having the unwavering belief there is something much larger than myself that is helping me expand, grow, evolve and transform through every step of my journey… through the challenging times and the joyous times. Faith is your convincing belief of the greatness that lies within you. It’s knowing that (as Marianne Williamson says) you were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
Affiliate programs part 2 is the continuation of my last post.
I am trying to find out if the affiliate that I choose to join will also pay me for hits and impressions in conjunction with the stated commissions. It is important to me if impressions and hits are also paid, because it will add to the earnings I will get from the sales commission. I learnt that this is especially important if the program I choose to join, offers low sales to be able to hit the required ratio.
I love doing business with real people especially those who will communicate with me. What if I have questions; who do I ask? I like finding out who owns the business; to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are making. The more I know about the retailer offering me the affiliate program, the easier it will be for me to know if that program is really for me and if I will promote it on my site.
I have to you a little secret, not many people know this; I actually dropped out of management school I was doing my post graduate degree. I know you are wondering why I am sharing this secret and its relevance to subject at hand. Just to let you know things like these are a bit boring to me. Take a question like: Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? Well I found out that a single tier program will pay me only for the business I myself have generated. While a two tier program will pay me for the business, plus it will also pay me a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate I sponsor in my program. I heard that some two-tier programs will even pay small fees on each new affiliate that I sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.
Now check this out; most of these affiliate programs pays 5% - 20% is the commission. Then 01% - .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. Considering the stated figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.
I have to be familiar with the many important aspects that my chosen program should have before promoting them on your website. These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before I will enter into any affiliate program. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for your site from among the many available. The search continues and I will let you know as I try to understand this world of affiliate programs.
I found out about this affiliate summit started by Shawn collins of affiliatetips blog on his website he has some tips on video for newbie affiliates. I always wanted to go back home to settle down and to take proper care of my business. Many people will wish to me in my shoes, travelling around the world meeting new people and learning new cultures. I have imagined how I was going to feel when the time comes; I have acquired knowledge in the line of business I dreamt of owning. Plans are written, contacts have been made, and equipments have been bought. Without notice the time approached like a raging wild fire in the dry season .For the fact that I have always anticipated this period one would expect me to receive the sudden news with joy was not the case. My first reaction was; why are they driving us away, panic! That fear of the unknown, am I ready for a change now? We all react to change in our own different ways, the fear of uprooting my kids from their schools and friends. I feel this way more because am not going back to where I used to know but to a completely new state. Everything is going to be on a clean slate, I ponder will they welcome the change that am bringing with me? Can I trust anyone there to share the same burning passion that I have for my work, in order to achieve my life long dreams? How long are we going to be there, will it be long enough for my business to start up? Will my in-laws be coming to my house unannounced? Will relations start stressing my husband out? I am just happy that I wouldn’t have much to pack this time, because I didn’t buy much which very unsual.
How do you handle change in your life?
