Dare to Dream Bigger than You Ever Have

Are you short-changing yourself? Do you hold back on how big you let yourself dream? Is it time for you to super-size your goals and dreams? You know the adage-life gives us what you ask of it? It’s really true. Most people I know are timid about really “going” for it and have a lot of reasons and excuses as to why they can’t have what they want, even those of us who feel like we are “big thinkers” could turn up the volume of our desires and aim higher and as a result create stunning successes that benefit not only ourselves and our business but truly make the world a better place. I’m curious; if you could tell me right now, what your current big goals and dreams are. Could you describe them to me in glowing, vivid detail? Don’t be shy! Do you believe in yourself and the power of your dreams? Let me share a story with you. Recently I met Sean Stephenson, author of “Get Off Your But” and I can honestly say, I am forever changed. Sean has an interesting, compelling and inspirational life story. Sean was born with a bone disease which stunted his growth and has kept him wheelchair bound. While he may only measure 3 feet tall, Sean’s spirit, big heart, and optimistic “can-do” outlook on life is incredible and off the charts inspirational. Sean’s list of accomplishments is a mile long.. In our short time together I learned a lot via Sean’s formula which is heart’s desires + the mind’s focus, and pure intention = manifest miracles.

Sean hasn’t let physical limitations crush his dreams. He’s living testimony to-if he can do it, so can we! To his credit, Sean is a licensed psychotherapist, motivational and inspirational speaker who trains and facilitates groups internationally. When I met Sean, he’d just returned from Malaysia where he spent time with Virgin’s CEO, Richard Branson. You can learn more about Sean by visiting his site, reading his new book “Get Off Your But” (The title is a very clever and effective play on words) and watching his new show on A&E “The 3 Foot Giant”, which is slated to premier in fall of 2009.

What dreams of yours are limp, lifeless and need a shot of new life and energy? If you have the thought, and you have the desire-then honor your dream and take action on it today. As I learned from Sean, just get off your “but” (But… I’m too old, But… I’m not… But…) drop the excuses and claim what you want, AND take avid, inspired action. Dream it, design it and then go do it!

3 Keys to Transforming Your Dreams into Reality

1. Be Bold- Decide what you want. Pay attention to your desires. Your desires are the key to your new future. If you have lofty financial and business goals, what is the money for? How will you change your life? Your family’s life? Your community? Your world? Dare to dream bigger! Dare to make a difference. The truth? You can! (more…)

The Ultimate Search!

Arc de Triomphe

As much as i will like to deny it; but the fact remains that so many things have been confusing me lately.Getting a new driver after the old one left was like the reality television show the Gulder ultimate search, they keep coming and going at a time,i began to question myself was there something that i was doing wrong? I travelled to France last month for the Paris fashion week which by the way was a blast, came back and didn’t see my driver again no prior notice was given to me.One of our nannies told me the next day that she wants to leave for some flimsy excuses that she uttered, did anything happened while i was gone? yeah a great deal happened well that is not the main objective of this post,a new driver was sent to me after interviewing him i asked him to come back the next day for a driving test guess what? he never showed up,when i called his agent to find out what happened i was told that he was using that day to wash all his dirty clothings that hopefully he might come back the next day. Then came Alex a driver who could not drive,he claimed that he was nervous being he just got the job,i have to use a cab because i couldn’t trust him enough to drive me on the busy high way.So after three days i have to let him go,he has a very good personality if it were another kind of job that doesn’t require handling an engine i would have hired him. Along came the criminal one no matter how hard i tried its a pity that i can’t remember what name he goes by.The day he came for interview and driving test i gave him some money for transportation that was on a friday and instructed him to come back on monday. On monday he came very early after a while my phone rang when i picked it up a lady told me that she was his sister and needed to speak to him am like what? i just ignored her before 4pm that day she has called like 4 more times by then i was furious i gave my phone to the stupid one to warn them not to call my line anymore. On our way home he told me that the person calling my phone is his wife that she just lost her mum remember this was his first day at work, sorry guy such things don’t move me.When he found out that his lie was so last century he came up with some silly excuse the next day about how his wife and little kid are starving this was on his 2nd day at work,on the 3rd day he asked for a salary advance i knew he was going to run with any money given to him well i still gave him the benefit of doubt by giving him half of what he requested. You are wondering if he came back the next day right? Well he came to work the next day at about 9.45am as against 7.00am he sat down for a while without touching the car, then he went out of the gate got back by 10.30am by then i have called a driver that needed to be tested. He engaged the new driver in a discuss after which they left together i didn’t sack him and he never told me that he was leaving.Wait! it is not over yet he later stole some money from his new best friend forever that same day because the new driver took him to his house after hearing his cock and bull story, serves him right. It is always important that we choose carefully who we make friends with. The new driver Sunday by name is still here after a week, so the ultimate search might be over.I have replaced the nanny with a younger one.The kids are on vacation so my days are no longer mine.

My Experience of almost repeating in the last Term

seoul

This is written by my son Chinedu you can check his other articles in the category Chinedu’s essay
Well, this all started when my family and I were in France. I went to school called “British School of Paris” and I started in ‘Year 3′ at the last term. As the years were passing, I was going to each stage of the school until I reached ‘Year 6′. So we stayed in France for 3-4 years, and I thought we were going to my home country direct. But we were traveling to South Korea which was in Asia, below China and it was half way around the world from France.
It took 13 hours on the plane to travel from France to South Korea. When we reached I went to a school called ‘Taejon Christian International School’ (TCIS), it was an American School so I had to start from ‘Grade 6′ and this is how I started boarding school. In this school my house master’s help me improve a lot and I got a total of 7 awards from that school. I only stayed 1 year in the school and when school was over I stayed at home. Our next destination was in my home country ‘Nigeria’. While we were still in South Korea and packing, my mum warned me that we were going to Nigeria and there was not any automatic taking to another class because there was first, second and third and it wouldn’t be easy.
When we were in Nigeria my parent were looking for a suitable school was ‘Citizen College’ which was a boarding school, but my parents didn’t like the way the boarding house was. The next school was ‘Caleb College’, I stayed there for 2 weeks and my dad had to waste N300, 000 just because they didn’t like the house. My uncle found a school for me that was called ‘Nigerian Navy Secondary School’ which you should know about. In the first and second term, what you would see in my result is a red F. Anyway my parents said that they were not serious because they said it was above average.
So my parents took me to another school called ‘Chrisland High school’ which was a Nigerian /British organization. So I had to be in ‘Year 8′. My Mum was dead serious about this school and showed me the amount of money that was more than N500, 000. My mum told me that if I don’t pass, I would go and live with my Great Grandma. So I studied hard for both C.A. Test. When Exams came out was time for me to be very serious with my studies and everyday after school it was straight to my books. When exams were over, we were always looking at our results while we were playing in class, I would have come first in maybe some subjects, this because they would have divided all the results that you got in the session by three but they divided mine by one because I came in the last term anyway our teacher gave us our position for the last term in the class and my GPA was 2.00 which was the least but I still passed, because if you got less than 2.00 you are repeating and I either came 11th or 12th in the class out of 15. And i was so happy for myself that I was going to ‘Year 9′ which would be harder.

No More Email Scams!

007
A photo shoot i did for Genevieve Magazine.

What kind of people fall for this kind of scam,am so sure that the victims are greed people who want to reap where they did not sow.Tell me why would anyone want to be a next of kin to dead man that he never heard of before. The time and energy some of these people put in composing and sending these emails is enough for them to be productive in genuine endeavors. This is so painful to me because of the fact that it is indirectly affecting me,i know that you might be wondering in what ways that it affects me. Everyone who knows me know that most of my time is spent online either shopping, browsing to improve myself and so many other things. Now because am in Nigeria right ,shopping online has become a task instead of fun that it used to be;because of my IP address am asked to confirm my credit card either by scanning and attaching it to their verifying dept or they totally block my account on that website yes its true Amazon.com did that to my account of almost 7yrs.This made me so sad because i really like that website as if that was not enough Calumet.com did not process my order for over one week after waiting patiently i called to find out what was taking so long for goods that was supposed to ship same day;they actually thought that someone stole my card and was making those orders from Nigeria. I had to call my credit card bank in France for verification after the drilling of answering questions when everything was settled the website told me that they can not call my bank since it was outside USA they advice me to wire the money to them,i couldn’t be bothered with all that stress so i canceled my ordered items.I went to B & H photos.com mind you for the same items, i made my orders and waited and nothing happened. At this point i was really fed up with the whole process and time was running out for the assignment that i need those items. So well! i reluctantly did the verification after which they processed and sent it out yesterday. All this embarrassments were caused by “My friend the fraudster“. I have enclosed an example of their nonsense emails. (more…)
