You are Lucky!

This is one of the articles that i wrote about in my showing appreciation post.

Do you know how fortunate you are?  You are using the internet.  What an amazing tool for us to have to advance all parts of our life.  You have at your fingertips a life changing opportunity. Are you putting it to good use?

If you do not already know, look into the cost of going through a university, or college.  Not just the money out of pocket, but time is a valuable commodity also.  You have all and more knowledge at your fingertips right now and a lot of it is free.

The only advantage that I can see that the schools offer is someone to hold your hand and tell you what to do, your homework.  Do you need someone to hold your hand?  Tell you that you must learn.

It is so easy for people to improve there life nowadays.  All you have to do is want to.  You just have to write down what you want to accomplish, (that would be your goals), commit to doing something each day to move towards that goal.  Be it a half hour of your time or most of the day.  Focus on it, and search for related topics to educate you on ways to reach that goal.  It is so simple and inexpensive.  You can regulate the climate around you, with your favorite beverage in front of you.  You can have a meal cooking at the same time, while you watch the kids.  I just don’t see any reason why anyone can not live the life they want to live if they so desire.

If you are complaining about your life in any way, you can solve it if you want to.  Do not focus on the problem, focus on the solution.  There is a solution right at your fingertips.  All you need to do is type in the “Key word” and push the button.  BAM, 4,678,600 search results.  See how many people have answers to your problem and want to help.  It is time to sit back and analyze this.  I would not jump into the first answer. Think of what exactly you are looking for.  Be sure to read as many answers as you can, because there is no such thing as too much education, but also consider your time.  Do you have time to read 4,678,600 pages?  Do you have time for 5 pages?  You are going to have some answers to all your needs that will cost, and some that don’t.  I myself like to do the free one’s first, I give free advice and I think it is pretty good advice, but paying a few bucks for a good solution or products for my needs is a good idea.  Just look how much the universities, and colleges charge vs. the internet folks.  The point is, the answer is there, and now all you have to do is trust your intuition and choose the right one, or two, or three and you are on your way to a better life.

If you haven’t noticed, I am a strong advocate of learning. I like to share my knowledge, and I like people to share theirs with me.  My favorite subjects right now are self improvement, motivation towards goals, and internet marketing.  There is so much information in these subjects that I will never get bored.  It is amazing how when I was a teenager I knew everything, now that I am in my fifties I learn many things every day. Funny how that works.

What do you want your legacy to be?  The person who accomplished everything they set out to do, or the person that sometimes remembered to take out the trash.

Showing appreciation

I want to thank everyone who believed  and stood by me through all these times.Way back before my web log crashed I requested from my readers and friends to send in their articles for publication on my blog.I gave out one of my email addresses for people to send their articles, guess what ! i forgot all about it.Today i checked that email inbox and you wouldn’t believe how many articles that was waiting for me there.I called my husband to take a look and he was amazed by the numbers.I never knew that those people even visit my website since i didn’t start the blog with an intention to make money I don’t bother with page rank or blog stats. The only way for me to know that someone visited was if they left a comment which many people don’t do including my biggest fan my husband.

I have decided to show my appreciation to all these wonderful people who considered my humble site worthy of their articles, from this month i will publish some of those articles. If i did not publish yours it doesn’t mean that it was not good enough;but in order to maintain my vision and goals of starting this site i will select the ones that respresents my visions.

We celebrated my son Chinedu’s 12th birthday yesterday ,although he has already celebrated it in school the previous week. I gave him an assignment to write an eassy about our easter holiday in Seoul.I did so to find out how he sees the world around him,i also wanted to figure out his thought pattern now that he has added a year to his age.He typed them himself and i am not going to change or correct anything,so brace yourself for a fun filled week.

Motivate yourself to make decisions quickly.

This article is written by a by a guest writer Keith Shaw.I hope it will help your decision making if you are anything like me that put away everything for later date.

An inherent weakness that we all have, in both our personal, public and career lives, is S-L-O-W decision making. You absolutely know you that need to do something that will take you closer to your goals or the task at hand, but for unknown reasons, you procrastinate.
Maybe it is less painful not to do something than it is to do it. And since the majority of people fear pain even down to the tiniest pin prick, they never take any risks, or any
chances or any actions towards their dreams and thoughts.

Or perhaps it is like a menu in a restaurant with too many
choices and you can not decide on what meal to select.
Because you are lacking the power of concentration and the
ability to take control of your thoughts (and life), well,
you end up going “hungry” or settling for less than you
really wanted.

Perhaps you are afraid of hearing the word “no”, and so you
never do what needs to be accomplished. And, the sad lesson
here is that when you do not ask for what you want, the
answer will always be NO!

Whatever the reason, the facts show that the majority of
people fail because of the lack of deciding to do
something, WHEN it should be done. Those that are most
successful in any endeavor are those who are quick to grasp
opportunities by making quick decisions.

I once worked with a man we will call “Ted”, who always
procrastinated with EVERYTHING he did - work, meetings,
deadlines for presentations and of course, making
decisions. I even joked with him that he would be late for
his own funeral. And here is the ironic part — “Ted”
set his watch 15 minutes ahead to make sure that he was on
time, and he WAS STILL CONSISTENTLY LATE!

Build the skill of deciding quickly one way or the other,
even at the risk of deciding wrong. You can always change
your mind. Plus, if you find that you did make the wrong
decision, you get the added benefit of knowing what does
not work. So you STILL WIN! Just do it quickly, and make
the necessary changes when you know you are off course.
Practice this for a week or two and you will notice an
improvement in your ability to make decisions quickly.

So, here are some special and very simple exercises for you
to train yourself. For the next week, I want you to do them
to develop your skill in making quicker decisions in your
daily affairs. Set your alarm clock for the time you wish
to get up and arise at exactly that fixed time - not hit
the snooze button! Also, anything that you should
accomplish, do on time, or better yet, ahead of time. Show
up for a meeting, a date or lunch appointment on time, or
better yet 5-10 minutes early. By making quick decisions on
the little things you will acquire the ability and
confidence to make quick decisions on bigger, more
important things.

Never, never, never procrastinate and you will ALWAYS get
more of what you want, when you want it.

Why should I choose?

shoeshopping
I went to the shopping complex yesterday afternoon, just for window shopping. As you already know that’s one of my major hobbies, I went straight to the shoe section. I already knew that it will be impossible to find my shoe size but since everyone was heading that way I did too. My husband called to find out where I was because he was heading home for lunch and for picking up the twins from school. He told to me wait for him there since it was on his way; I totally forgot that he will be a spoiler.I saw these beautiful set of gold jewelry that I fell in love with, called him from were he was trying out a pair of shoes. After agreeing that it was lovely that I should get it, well that was before he saw the price. I told him that it was $2,300.00 he told me that it was expensive. I wouldn’t want to pay that kind of cash with my own money and he knew that, guess what he said;” remember I just got a multimedia projector for you this month, so you decide which is more important to you now”. That is telling me to choose between electronics and jewelry. Most ladies that I know will go for the jewelry but yours truly is an electronics lover. My problem is why should I choose, can’t I have them both? jewleryset
That was why after reading one of my favorite’s blogs by Balkhis I decided to take a survey to know how rich I will be in 10 years time. This is what I got $18,570,737.00, considering my dreams, plans and my taste I am wondering if this is good. I know deep inside that I will worth much more than that. Just take the survey and see how rich you will be in 10 years and drop a comment to let us all know, do it for the fun of it.How much money will you worth?

What will you do if your child went missing?

source-156-ygirl
Some many people wouldn’t like to discuss this topic. Mothers feel that it will make them look irresponsible or even careless. No normal parent would put his or her child in the line of danger. I haven’t been my usual happy self since a few days now, as much as I would love be happy, happiness had been far fetched.
I got this news about a young girl we all know in Paris; the girl’s mom is a colleague of my husband. Their family were somehow close to us. I learnt that the girl was kidnapped last Friday while coming back from school by some youths of the Niger Delta in Port Harcourt Nigeria. To think that I lived in that city before and had fond memories gave me goose pimple. What is even worst the possibility of my husband’s company sending us there. The young girl is a teenager, kidnapped by some youths and I can’t stop to imagine the horror the poor girl will be going through. My heart bleeds for her parents; you can only imagine what they are going through if you have ever been in that same situation.
I remember the day my child went missing; it was every horrible thing that you can imagine. The first few hours after your child is gone missing is always the most critical period, you are in a panic mode. You can’t seem to remember anything, crying and running around in utter confusion. Then imagine loosing a child in a city where language is a great barrier, who do you turn to? My child was found by the efficiency of the South Korean police and with the help of the locals who did everything in their power to help. Thank God for the security cameras they have everywhere. What happened or whose fault it wasn’t the issue then or now but writing about it will give me closure. That experience made me realise that that if you loose a child through death you will at least know what happened compare to a situation whereby you will never know if your child lived on or died. You will forever be hoping that your child will come home some day; I can’t wish that on any human being either friend or foe.
What will you do if your child went missing?
Would have the needed critical information at hand?
Would you have your child’s current poster quality photos at hand to distribute?
In that moment of panic and overdose stress be able to make available important information to aid the search? Join me in prayers for my young friend to come back home safely.
