Facebook Status

…I have always sought to be understood and, while I was taken to task by critics or colleagues, I thought they were right, assuming I had not been clear enough to be understood. This assumption allowed me to work my whole life without hatred and even without bitterness toward criticism, regardless of its source. I counted solely on the clarity of expression of my work to gain my ends. Hatred, rancor, and the spirit of vengeance are useless baggage to the artist. His road is difficult enough for him to cleanse his soul of everything which could make it more so.
………..Henri Matisse

The last time i checked the facebook news feed says “what’s on your mind” and not what does your friends want you to write about. Most times when i update my status people will start telling me what i should post on facebook and what i should not post. Most times i wonder if i should even answer them or keep quiet but i would rather write what’s on my mind than write what will please my friends. I use writing as a channel to express myself and since i have not mastered the art of diplomacy in expressing myself i write as it is. I honestly don’t care if someone comments on my facebook status or not but if they do am pleased it shows that someone took out time from his or her busy schedule to read my rants. I write so plainly and still people misunderstands me what if i start to use big grammars and code in some of my writings what will happen then. Have anyone really bothered to find out what makes me the kind of person that i am? I use to hate some of my lecturers who wanted me to draw and design the way they want without allowing me to grow as an artist, to be creative and be heard through my works. As an individual my personality should be visible in all that i do i can’t change who i am to please anyone. When i started my blog i wanted it to be an avenue for me to express my feelings which i could not share with any one because apart from my hubby there was really no one to share those feelings and thoughts with. Am not the best of friends with so many people because they can’t stand the truth, you can’t be my friend and expect me to curry favour issues with you. People start complaining that am too open in my blog that i should not write certain things do you know that if i should write all that is in my mind the whole internet will not contain it,i have tried to restrict my writings what happened i stop updating my blog because its either i write it as it or i don’t. I am an artist and not a politician or a diplomat those are the ones who are always diplomatic and worries about what people think or say about them, in terms of electing them next time. There have been times in my life that i have wanted to speak to some one about my fears, pains and joys but found no one but my facebook status update does it for me. I might not know your reason for joining Facebook but i know why i did,Facebook was an avenue for me to meet old friends and make new ones,it was a place i stayed in contact with happenings in my country while i was away in a strange land.I believed that i could share my joy,my sorrow and my confusions and get unbiased opinions. Feeling “Safe” about Airport Security

Airport Security / tilt shift

We’ve all heard, by now, about the terrorist’s attempted suicide bombing on a plane on Christmas day. Fortunately, he did not succeed. You’ll all be happy to know, as a result, airport security tightened and the next day they were able to swiftly and safely confiscate a highly dangerous jar of almond butter that my daughter tried to take on board a plane - whew!

Who knows what she or someone who might steal the almond butter from her could have done. It could have been spread over the windshield of the plane, thereby blocking the pilot’s vision and preventing a safe landing. Or, it could have been spread in the aisle so as the flight attendant steps in it, it slows her down enough that she wouldn’t be able to serve the pilot his in-flight alcohol in a timely fashion to get him drunk, which upsets his rhythm and crashes the plane. The possibilities here are endless. (SPECIAL NOTE: If you are a potential terrorist please stop reading now because I don’t want you to get any terrorism ideas from this article.)

It was comforting to have her tell me, though, that her almond butter would not have been taken away if the container had been 3 ounces or less. I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that airport security is using logic and good common sense. If you had no more than 3 ounces of the stuff, for example, you couldn’t possibly cover the entire windshield, another disaster averted! (more…)

Merry Christmas!

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet the words repeat,
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

I thought how as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had roll’d along th’ unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bow’d my head:
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

‘Til ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
Of peace on earth, good will to men!

What’s Your Story?

This is my story and my passion pictures are worth a thousand words.

If you have ever gotten a job, any job, you have a story to tell about how you got that job, how you came to be in that business, etc. The same is true of multilevel marketing. Everyone has a story of how they got started, who told them about the business, and how their life has changed. Sometimes your story is the only verbal contact you will have with someone, so you need to make it good!

While everyone may have a story, not everyone has mastered telling their story. Sometimes we get so excited about our business, they we want to tell absolutely EVERYTHING about what this business has done for us and what the business can do for them. Half an hour later our audience is either asleep, has put us on permanent hold (if we are on the phone), or is looking for a way to escape. Some of us try to make the story too short. “Well, a friend of mine called up one day and I signed up and it’s been great ever since!” No too inspirational. (more…)

The Ultimate Search!

Arc de Triomphe

As much as i will like to deny it; but the fact remains that so many things have been confusing me lately.Getting a new driver after the old one left was like the reality television show the Gulder ultimate search, they keep coming and going at a time,i began to question myself was there something that i was doing wrong? I travelled to France last month for the Paris fashion week which by the way was a blast, came back and didn’t see my driver again no prior notice was given to me.One of our nannies told me the next day that she wants to leave for some flimsy excuses that she uttered, did anything happened while i was gone? yeah a great deal happened well that is not the main objective of this post,a new driver was sent to me after interviewing him i asked him to come back the next day for a driving test guess what? he never showed up,when i called his agent to find out what happened i was told that he was using that day to wash all his dirty clothings that hopefully he might come back the next day. Then came Alex a driver who could not drive,he claimed that he was nervous being he just got the job,i have to use a cab because i couldn’t trust him enough to drive me on the busy high way.So after three days i have to let him go,he has a very good personality if it were another kind of job that doesn’t require handling an engine i would have hired him. Along came the criminal one no matter how hard i tried its a pity that i can’t remember what name he goes by.The day he came for interview and driving test i gave him some money for transportation that was on a friday and instructed him to come back on monday. On monday he came very early after a while my phone rang when i picked it up a lady told me that she was his sister and needed to speak to him am like what? i just ignored her before 4pm that day she has called like 4 more times by then i was furious i gave my phone to the stupid one to warn them not to call my line anymore. On our way home he told me that the person calling my phone is his wife that she just lost her mum remember this was his first day at work, sorry guy such things don’t move me.When he found out that his lie was so last century he came up with some silly excuse the next day about how his wife and little kid are starving this was on his 2nd day at work,on the 3rd day he asked for a salary advance i knew he was going to run with any money given to him well i still gave him the benefit of doubt by giving him half of what he requested. You are wondering if he came back the next day right? Well he came to work the next day at about 9.45am as against 7.00am he sat down for a while without touching the car, then he went out of the gate got back by 10.30am by then i have called a driver that needed to be tested. He engaged the new driver in a discuss after which they left together i didn’t sack him and he never told me that he was leaving.Wait! it is not over yet he later stole some money from his new best friend forever that same day because the new driver took him to his house after hearing his cock and bull story, serves him right. It is always important that we choose carefully who we make friends with. The new driver Sunday by name is still here after a week, so the ultimate search might be over.I have replaced the nanny with a younger one.The kids are on vacation so my days are no longer mine.
