Blogging For Money.

As an indication of where we are as a society, there are a number of blogging business opportunities available for people who know their way around the Internet.  With all sorts of interesting things like Google AdSense and other ways for people to get paid, the blog business opportunity is bigger than ever.  You should be careful if you are going to consider this because you need to know how the rules are played and you need to know what counts and what does not and you need to know how you will get paid.  All of these are things to consider and things which should be known when you are considering the blog business opportunity.

Blog is short for “web log”, which is basically just someone’s account of what happened somewhere.  If five friends go to restaurant and one of them writes for a restaurant blog, that’s considered valid.  If there is one overzealous content producer who in his spare time writes a blog about theater, that’s completely legitimate.  If there is a disgruntled hotel worker who maintains a blog while she is at work on the graveyard shift about how much she hates her job, that is considered valid.  The fun thing about all these different types of businesses is that they all can make you money. Developing A Money Mindset For Financial Success.

Money!

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.
~Cree Indian Proverb

What were you taught about money as you were growing up? Something like “money doesn’t grow on trees”, or “money is the root of all evil”, or maybe “all rich people are greedy”?

Well, how do you expect to become a success financially if you believe these things?

First of all, believing that “money doesn’t grow on trees” is an example of what’s called lack or scarcity programming. Our parents taught us that there was never enough money to go around, and that it was not readily available or abundant. But in truth, the universe is very abundant, and there is lots of money to go around for everyone.

The key is to start thinking that you deserve the money and that there is lots of it available for you, and then you can start attracting it into your life. That’s abundance thinking, which is the opposite of lack or scarcity thinking.

And what about thinking that “money is the root of all evil”? Can you really expect to become a success if you believe that money is the root of all evil? Unless you have a desire to be an evil person, your subconscious will not let you have money if you believe deep down that it is the root of all evil.

By the way, that quote is taken out of context in the first place. It was originally stated as “the love of money is the root of all evil”. So it has nothing to do with the money itself. (more…)

What is your daily intention?

That sounds like a loaded question doesn’t it?  I am realizing, through different mentors that I have been studying with, that I need to set my intention every day for my business and life.  It has been an interesting journey for me as I learn about intentions.

According to Wikipedia intention means; an agent’s intention in performing an action is their specific purpose in doing so, the end or goal they aim at, or intend to accomplish. Whether an action is successful or unsuccessful depends at least on whether the intended result was brought about. Other consequences of someone’s acting are called unintentional. Intentional behavior can also be just thoughtful and deliberate goal-directedness.

For me, an intention means something I want to have happen in my life or business. As I write them down each day, I really try to feel that the goal or intention is happening now.  Then I watch to see if any positive evidences of that set intention appear.  During the time that I have been setting my daily intentions, I have seen some evidences that my intentions are appearing.  My goals are coming to fruition. When staying in a hotel, wear pyjamas

What is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you?  Try and beat this one.

I recently had to attend an evening meeting in Kent, south of London.  I was due in London early the next morning.  Rather than risk missing the last train home, I decided to stay over in a hotel.

London budget hotels are generally an embarrassment to the city, but I managed to get a decent room at a very good price in a place called Orpington, close to where my meeting was.

I went to bed at 11pm and did not fall asleep immediately, because there was a hall light right outside my hotel door that shone right in my face.  I covered my head and eventually fell asleep.

However, I woke up several times because of the light.  I know that the light was required for the inhabitants of the room above mine, because they had to use the stairs from the hallway that we shared.

At some point I woke up again and decided that since it is pitch dark outside, nobody would need the light to use the stairs.  I got up and opened the bedroom door, and there was the light switch, two steps away.  Bliss!

As I reached the light switch, the electronic lock of the bedroom door softly closed behind me.  And there I was standing in the hallway, dressed in a pair of knickers.  My phone, my watch and my clothes were all behind that locked door. (more…)

Driving Traffic to Your Site with Craigslist

For those of you that still don’t know what Craigslist is, try to imagine a gigantic flea market right at your finger tips.  A place where you can buy anything from a designer handbag to a vacation home.  There are people from all over the world selling their goods and services on Craigslist, with just as many people looking to purchase goods and/or services. With the tremendous success of Craigslist, it has become one of the most regularly visited websites on the Internet.

It is a traffic magnet, drawing massive amounts of visitors a day.  Craigslist is used by millions of people every day.  Tapping into this enormous market of visitors could result in more traffic to your website.  Think about it, the people browsing through Craigslist are already in a “buying” mode, they are there looking for something.  So offering your product or service can result in a higher conversion rate.

To register for an account with Craigslist, you need to supply a valid email address.  You will then receive a link to follow to activate your account and create a password.  You are then ready to submit your ads.  For your convenience, the site is divided into regions.  You can post your ad locally or by state and even by country.  Imagine someone thousands of miles away, reading your ad with just a few clicks. It is free to post your ads and they will stay active for about 45 days.  Of course you can always go back and re-post your ads over and over again to stay current. This will help you to develop a nice flow of traffic to your site.

The real traffic however, will come from Google.   Google loves Craigslist and it is not unusual for ads placed on Craigslist to achieve a top ranking.  This can occur in less than a week’s time.  Once this happens, your ad will get some serious traffic.   If you write your ad properly, you can even have that traffic directed right to your website.

To make sure your ads rank well with the search engines, use some of the same SEO tactics you used for your site. Optimize your ads for your keywords just as you did your web pages. There are many other classified sites besides Craigslist.  Of course they do not come close to the amount of traffic Craigslist achieves, but that doesn’t mean they should be over looked.  Do a search to find other classified sites and then use them to along with Craigslist to drive more traffic to your site.
