We are counting days now.

building3

From counting months to counting weeks we are finally counting down in days to leaving South Korea. This morning after the twins went to school Chinedu and I started packing our books. Why do we always have so many books to pack each time we are relocating? It is even less here since Amazon.com was not able to post books to me in South Korea. I saved some money and some packing space, so it is their lost not mine. I remembered buying “My Life” by Bill Clinton for my husband when I travelled to London in 2004 the year it was first published in U.K. We are in 2008 right now and he hasn’t read it yet, if only you know how many times he called me to remind me of buying this book. This made me think of all the great books by very great authors gathering dust in some people’s home libraries. A friend and a neighbour of mine in Paris told us this story about when they travelled to England; how she and her husband went to buy some classic books you know those types that are bounded in leathers. The salesman asked them if the books that they wanted were for reading; they wondered what else one does with a book. The salesman then told them that some people buy books just to decorate their home libraries while others buy for reading. He told them that it will determine the quality of the print and leather to be used. Next time you go to some body’s house and see those leather bounded book collections; do your self a favour and check if they were for reading or for decoration. I believe that the 3 things that can change one’s life are the books you read, the people you meet and the places you have been. I noticed that very successful people have huge libraries with lots of books. Do they acquire these books before or after they became successful? I am going back to my book packing which I left off to write this post. Please leave your answer in the comment box.

The 7 Characteristics Of Rich People

 Truly Rich

Have you ever wondered why rich people seem to get richer easily while those in the poverty cycle seem destined to be stuck there forever? The reason is simple. You need to think and act like a rich person first before you can really be rich. Let’s take a look at some of the characteristics of rich people.

1. No limited self belief

Rich people believe they are destined to be rich and there is nothing that can stop them from achieving that financial freedom goal. They will do whatever necessary to reach their goals including doing things that they dislike or taking on tasks that seem impossible to complete.

2. Recognize the importance of time

Rich people also recognize that time is their most important asset and a very scarce resource. They do not waste their precious time sitting in front of a TV watching soap operas or other entertainment programs like “Survivors.” They also know how to use the power of leverage to achieve maximum results with minimum efforts.

3. Seek out other people of higher social status

Many poor people only network with other people that are of the same status as them. They do not actively seek out other people who are wealthier. The rich people will do the opposite. They want to network and learn from others who are better and wealthier.

4. Expense as investment

To many poor people, the best way to manage money is to use less of it. However, rich people have a different viewpoint. To them, many expenses can be viewed as investments. By spending a certain amount of their money to acquire an asset or skill, they know they will get back what they spent in the future.

5. Strong self-confidence

Many rich people exhibit a high level of self-confidence that is often contagious. They are optimists and maintain a positive outlook at all times. Their confidence is not easily shaken by external factors.

6. Good money habits

While saving is a good virtue and habit, many rich people feel that it is not the best way to grow your money. Rich people will put a significant portion of their wealth in some kind of investment vehicles that give them a better ROI than a normal saving account. They also do not spend their money aimlessly buying things that have no real value such as lottery tickets.

7. Philanthropy

Many rich people are also great philanthropists. They frequently make charitable donations intended to increase human well being. A great example is Bill Gates who set up his own charitable foundation aimed at providing lifesaving health care products for the poorest part of the world.

Most rich people did not become wealthy overnight. They faced many setbacks and challenges to get to where they are today. To them, setbacks and challenges provide valuable lessons that help them find the way to great wealth as well as strengthen their ability to faced adversities in life.

Containing your Emotions.

source-157-girl2

We all experience negative emotions; yesterday I reached my breaking point I lashed out to the person who caused me to feel so much anger. It didn’t go well with my husband who thought I should have held back my emotions because other people were around. I apologised to him but deep inside me I knew that I was very angry; a very rare emotion for me. I was defending him from emotional stress caused by his relatives, should I have sat back and watch them use emotional blackmail on him? No way, I will always speak out although I shouldn’t let my emotions run amok, I shouldn’t stuff them either. Your emotions will come out eventually even if you try to bury them. If you suppress your emotions you might end up like an older man who lay in hospital on the verge of death. As he floated on the verge of consciousness for two weeks, his faithful wife sat in a chair by him every moment. When he finally became lucid enough to speak, he whispered,”Honey, you have been with me through all the bad times. When I got fired you were there to support me. When we lost our house, you never left my side. You were there when I lost my business, and when my health started failing.”
“Yes, dear,”she answered, smiling.
“You know what?” he said.
“What dear?” she asked.
“You are bad luck!”
Suppressing your emotions will not lead to contentment.
The law of human behaviour states that;” sooner or later we get just what we expect.”
I have a question to ask you: Is this law of human behaviour optimistic or pessimistic?
Stop and think about your answer because your response reveals your attitude. Your attitude determines your outlook.

Creating Your Millionaire Mind

I would like to share something with you… a life-changing secret.

Let this “sink in” for your benefit and also for the benefit of those you wish to pass this wisdom-of-life on to.

You can… and WILL… have a “millionaire mind” if you live by the following truths:

* You become what you truly believe about yourself;

*In life, if you put forth a poor effort you get nothing. You lose your job, your marriage doesn’t become fruitful, you get nothing in the Olympics, or worse.

*If you put forth good (average) effort, you get poor results. That is why s-o-o-o many good people get so little. They lose jobs, they’re broke, etc.

*If you put forth excellent effort, you get good results. You will get a silver medal in the game of life… in love, finance, your spirituality and more.

*Now, if you want all the rewards life has to offer, You MUST be outstanding. If you are outstanding… to stand out… you will get it all!! You will get the gold medal.

*You must believe that you are outstanding and have a millionaire mind.

Anyone can judge their own life. It’s easy. Just take a good look at where your life is at this moment. Life is rigidly fair. If we want more, then we must be prepared to give more… to reach inside and find the faith and strength to take it to the next level.

Two people get up in the morning; the sun is shining, and there is a nice, warm and gentle breeze blowing on their faces. The birds are signing a beautiful song. One person steps outside and says, “aahhhhh, what a nice day!” And that same person thinks, “I’m going to make a difference today!” And you know what? They do make a difference.

The second person steps outside and says, “Ah sure… it’s nice out, and I have to work.” And that person thinks, “This stinks… to hell with it, I’ll just call in sick.”

You see, life handed these two people the same thing, but only one person came out a winner. We are all creating our lives everyday whether positive or negative. We program our minds to be productive and we double our talents… or… we program our minds to complain, and we live a dull life. We get what we create inside our minds.

Now, here’s a tip: Decide what it is you want - anything. Ask yourself, “What do I want, and why do I want this result? What MUST I do to get it?” The words “why” and “must” are key. It’s not “what should I do?” It’s “What MUST I do?” Once you know the answers to these two questions, you will have no excuse when you do nothing to achieve the desired result.

We can all raise the bar. Life will give you what you want if you believe and raise the bar for yourself. You must believe. You must see the result, and you must become outstanding at achieving it.

Remember, outstanding people get all the rewards!! Life will give it all to you at the level of “outstanding.” Nothing less will do if you want all the rewards.

What do you want in life… in work… in religion… in sports… in relationships… in whatever? WHY do you want these things and What MUST you do to get it?

If God gives you another day, what will you do with what He has given you? Make it outstanding!

You must believe in your dreams, and you must see and feel yourself already living the life you truly desire. And, or course, if you strive to be outstanding in all that you do, you will live a rewarding life and achieve a millionaire mind.

How To Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams

The best way to avoid affiliate marketing scams is to learn about the type of scams that are possible on the Net. The saying, “Forewarned is forearmed” is perfectly applicable here. Only when you know what you should expect you would be able to avoid the pitfalls involved. Therefore, education on what types of scams have been identified until present is very important.

You Need To Play It Safe To Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams

For best results, when you are in doubt about an affiliate program do not take the offer up. Most of us ignore the warnings that come from within us. All of us have an inner radar system that warns us loud and clear when something is just not right. However, most people learn to suppress this warning signal often with disastrous results. Therefore, the first thing is to listen your gut feeling. If you get “that feeling” drop the offer.

To be doubly sure, go for only those affiliates which have been recommended by close friends (who have already tried and tested it) or affiliates which have been around for at least five year and gained a positive reputation in the market.

Stick with the big named Marketers as besides security, these affiliate programs are likely to give you the best terms you could get, plus a free website and some tools.

The Most Popular Affiliate Marketing Scams

1. Greed is the main helper of affiliate marketing scams. Greed and need make a person blind to reason and this is how most affiliate scams operate. They paint a rosy picture where they make earning money look like child’s play. They make false claims about amazing sums of money which make you feel greedy for the income. In that moment you got that feeling, you are captured by the affiliate marketing scam. In case you do think the affiliate which promises you riches overnight is genuine, just run a search on the Internet and see whether this company is registered with BBB (Better Business Bureau); if not, do not trust it.

2. Desperation is the next helper for the fraudulent Marketer. Are you in need of cash urgently? Do you want continuous streams of income without any effort? Do you want to quit your job and work from home? These are the questions to which each one of us have positive answers. When you are down on cash or suffocated by your job, be very careful on what advertisement you believe and choose to try. It is possible you are stepping into a trap of affiliate marketing scams which instead of giving you money, would demand whatever little money you have remaining on you.

3. Money begets money. Most of us believe in this adage and we feel that if the investment has good prospects, you should make a payment. However, some scams imply that if you want a large payout you need to invest a lot. The problem is that the moment you make an investment, they disappear. Do not pay any large sum of money on the Internet in the hope you will get more. In fact, qualitative affiliate programs would enroll you without any payment, while they would host your website for free and also provide you the latest tools to market the product.

If you are careful and do your research you will be able to choose only the good affiliate programs that are out there and sidestep the affiliate marketing scams of which there are plenty.
